DESCRIPTION:The title of this month’s workshop comes from a Diane Ackerman poem titled “Sweep Me Through Your Many-chambered Heart.” Whatever else the poem says (it says a lot)\, the phrase “the banquet called April” offers a wealth of inspiration for writing in the season that sets nature’s table with a lavish bounty of color and sound\, scents and light. Who can resist writing in springtime?\n\n\n\n\n\nHere’s what to expect: \n\nbreath work and a brief intention-setting meditation\ntwo prompts followed by two blocks of individual writing time\ntwo optional sharing sessions\n\n\nDon’t forget\, if you are working on something and would like an intimate group of avid listeners to hear your words\, feel free to bring your work in progress\, your published poem\, your memoir excerpt\, whatever needs an appreciative ear.\n\n\n\nThe workshop is a bring-your-own-lunch. There is a refrigerator and microwave available to you. Coffee\, tea\, and light snacks will be provided. Please bring your own mug to help reduce the amount of trash generated. \nNo matter your writing goals\, you will be right at home with others who come from all levels of experience\, from diarists to dabblers to published authors. DESCRIPTION:“Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May…” is a line from Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18\, which recognizes that the weather is precarious\, as is life itself.
